Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Checklist for filing for divorce w/out a lawyer
My wife and I are seperated and I am tired of waiting around. I am ready to file for divorce. She doesn't want to go through a lawyer and frankly neither do I. To cover all the bases what do we need to do to file for divorce. We have pretty much dicided the split of our things. I keep the house and my car she got almost everything else. Right now I pay $300.00 in child support.

You can go to any law library and try to do the paperwork yourselves.
It is difficult (not impossible) when there are minor children involved and/or property.
I have noticed after practicing law over 13 years, that most people that try to save money often end up spending much more money. Often people do the paperwork wrong and it costs a lot more to fix something once it is broken.
Good luck!
