Chhild support

I have not paid child support in 7 years. Due to money problems. I can't pay 700 a mnth . If i start now andsend in 1oo. Month to show something will that help or will i end up i jail. I am trying to get a lawyer but i am trying to come up with 1000. To retain him and the clock is ticking with my ex-husband

Child support is based on your income. When your income drops you can go to court and get it lowered based on you reduced ability to pay. When it goes up, your ex can go to court and try to raise it. You need to go to court to get it lowered. Unfortunately you can't lower it retroactively. It's best to send what you can now to show the state that you are trying to do the best you can.
