My daughter has left and has left her 10 month old son here with me. She signed a piece of paper stating me and my husband have temporary custody and may seek medical attention if needed. This was done 6 months ago.She does not call or come see the baby.I have heard she is telling people she does not have a baby.I have letters she has written to guys(that knows she has a baby) stating''you dont have to have any thing to do with him.She has been evicted from her apartment, she stays here & There,I feel she may be on drugs. How can i get temporay custody of her son?

Re: Child Abandament

You would need to file a suit affecting the parent-child relationship (SAPCR) asking for custody, temporary or permanent, of your grandchild. I suggest that you contact an attorney for further advice and help with this matter.

Re: Child Abandament

As you have had the child for more than six months, you can file suit seeking custody of the child. The court can also order your daughter and the father of the child to pay you child support. Suggest that you file before your daughter changes her mind and decides to try and get the child back.
