Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Abdonment?
My daughter recently turned three. Her father was in the service, however got out- and has had trouble supporting her in the agreement we made with a local congresswoman nearly three years ago.
At this point- he's denied paternity- so we had a DNA test done (he is her biological father)- he also signed an AoP after her birth.
Now he has stopped all means of supporting her, does not write, does not call, does not answer in regards to messages left for him. Recently he wrote stating he was going to take custody, I would have to travel to his state to exchange her, give her up in the summers, etc.
Because he isn't in contact with her, and has made no attempt in over two years to see her, has he legally abondoned her?

He can write letters all day long, only a judge can decide where your child will live, and under what circumstances. You need a lawyer to get a court order to protect yourself and your child's future.
