im trying to change my son's (my son is 7yrs old) last name. cause his father was very abusive towards me and my son and i need to find out how can i go about that

You will need to file a suit to change the child's name. You will need a good family law attorney to help you. Normally the Courts here do not allow children's names to be changed without both parent's approval. Good luck!
