Re: Child Name Change
You can have a petition for name change filed and approved in most courts in Texas with relative ease. Courts only request that the child registry in Austin receive information about the change of name, so that the child or his/her father can search public records for information at a later date.
Filing fees for such a petition are generally about $150-175 depending on what county you are in. Costs of retaining an attorney can vary, of course. For your case, our firm would charge $250 + filing fee.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, I will be happy to consult with you at no charge via e-mail: [email protected] or via phone at 254.756.5004 Thanks, and all the best to you in the resolution of this issue.
