Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
How old can a child be or do they have a choice to decide which parent they want to live in

It's 18.
Many people think it's 12 but it's not.
You can read the TX Family Code on-line for free.
If you have any other questions, then talk in person to a family law attorney in your county.
Any court in the US will consider a child's desires, and any evidence submitted to the court, if motioned properly and even if the child is too young to testify, and under the age of 12. However, the court will rule in the best interest of the child and based on the evidence submitted to the court and not based on what the child desires.
If you are AGGRESSIVELY willing to litigate a change in circumstances and IF you have a child who really wants to live with you, and IF that child is not just saying this to make you feel better (because they often change their minds when they speak to the Judge), we can assist you in litigating and fighting for a change in custody.
