Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Custody
I have been caring for my two daugthers since leaving my husband in 2005. He has paid approximately 2000 in child support over the last 2 years. After pushing him for support he has decided to try for custody of the girls. He does not have a steady job, and has not since I left, he just moved across the country to live with a girl he met on the internet a week ago. I have been stedily employed for a year and a half at the same place with no prior problems with the law. I know I made the mistake of not applying for temporary support, but do I have anything to worry about in terms of loosing custody? He also has a recorded history of family violence and a suicide attempt.
I am financially unable to afford legal help, but do not want to loose my girls. What should I do?

Re: Child Custody
I doubt you have anything to worry about. You need to contact a legal aid clinic to ask for assistance. You may also ask for the Attorney General to help with child support order. You should try and at least talk to a private family law attorney about your case to see what you can do. You may be able to file the motions yourself.
