Child Custody

Our daughter left her husband wiht her 5 month old baby and came back home. One month later she passed and the father left the baby with us the day of the funeral. He visited and called but left baby with us. He wanted custody after ayear but the judge ruled in our favor and gave us custody of baby who is now 2 years old and he has refiled to get custody under parental presumption. what do we need to do? who has the burden of proof?and what is the statue of limitations in texas before he can ask for a change of ruling?

What do you need to do? In my humble opinion, I think you should get a lawyer. In all honesty, you and your husband are not parents of the child, so you're going to have to argue something else to overcome that. Unless you know how to do that, you might lose. If this issue is important to you, you should get a lawyer.
