Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Custody

If you divorce and you have a child age 11 - do you have to let your spouse have visitation rights? At what age can a child make their own decision of whether or not to visit their father ?

Re: Child Custody

Your child can decide not to visit his father when he turns 18 and is no longer a child.

Basically, the judge makes decisions regarding visitation. Y

ou can read more about a standard possession order at the Texas Family Code which is available on-line. Just go to any search engine and type in Texas Family Code. I also think the Texas Attorney General website has information that you might find helpful.

If drugs, etc. are a problem, then visitation can be limited to supervised.

Good luck!
