Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Custody

The ex-husband is filling a petition to modify and is asking for custody. My wife currently has custody, he found out I joined the Navy and doesn't want us to take the the child with us. So we need to answer this petition to modify. I just need to know how to answer it so that we don't default, because we can't afford a lawyer for another month. We live in Texas, thank you

An answer is a document with formal language that declares a denial of allegations and any defenses. Do yourself a favor and shop around for an attorney who is willing to help you.
