Re: child custody

Usually both parties are drug tested when the Judge signs an order to do drug testing.

It can be urine, hair, both. The cost varies from lab to lab. Hair testing is expensive but goes back further than urine.

Good luck!

Re: child custody

If you can convince a judge that there is cause to believe that parent might be using drugs and that it is in the best interest of the child to confirm the parent's drug use, then the judge will order the drug test. The judge will also decide who pays for the testing. Often the judge will make the order mutual so that both parents have to undergo the testing. This is something that can be addressed in a temporary orders hearing.
