Can my ex husband get custody of our son because a guy I dated had apparently beat up his ex wife? I am no longer seeing this man.

Conservatorship depends upon a wide range of issues that the judge considers in determining the best interest of the child. This would certainly be a factor if you were still dating him. It should not be a factor now, unless there is some indication that you might get back together, or that you insisted on having him in the house after you learned of the previous assault.
