Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Custody

My husband's ex-wife dropped off his two youngest children. We have enrolled them in school and are trying to establish a stable secure environment. Our biggest fear is that she will one day come and take them away, as she is the custodial parent. Both children are expressing distress at the situation. My question is, do we have to turn them over is she comes to get them? Should we wait to attempt to get custody of them and what are the chances of us being able to provide a home for them?

Re: Child Custody

Your husband may be able to file a motion to modify the original custodial order and obtain primary conservatorhip. Contact an attorney who is experienced with these types of cases. Good luck.
