Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child custody involving multiple issues

After 16 yrs, husband had affair and we divorced. We had 3 children: 1 boy, 2 girls. The boy, 15 at time, started having anger and drug issues which I tried to get him help for, as dad was not very involved. Then, I found that my son (then 17) was behaving inappropriately with my 6-yo daughter and I called CPS; it was determined that the brother should be away from the sisters; my ex refused to take the boy, so out of fear that CPS might take the kids altogether, I agreed he could take the girls just while this was sorted out. He took the girls, ostensibly to his apartment, then moved in that same weekend with his girlfriend (not the one he cheated with), whom he married because she was pregnant, and then went for custody of the girls. Without financial resources (legal aid couldnt help), I signed the docs hoping to be able to regroup and get the girls back. Son ultimately got probation and is finally on his path; now the girls want to come home. Problem is, I lost everything during all of this and am living with my boyfriend, who took me and my elderly mother inhe welcomes the girls, but I fear since his divorce isnt final, the court might not let the girls live with me like this. Advice? Thank you

Re: Child custody involving multiple issues

I suspect you didn't have an attorney before and that is probably going to hurt you now. My best advice is to get a good family law attorney! Sounds like you are going to need one to regain the custody you signed away.
