Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

child custody

I recently got a divorce in April of 2006 and in the final divorce decree it states that neither my ex-husband or I have to pay child support meaning we both have equal rights to two of our children. I get them one week starting on Friday at 7pm till the following Friday at 7pm. I was suppose to have them this week of Feb. 9th to the 16th but he refused to let me have my children. I contacted the police and they files a report but nothing has been done as of yet. I am not allowed to talk to them or see him due to him saying that he got a judge to sign temorary custody of the girls to him. I tried to contact the judge but i have not recieved an answer. He did not show me the paperwork that he speaks about and I am afraid for my children. I cannot afford a lawyer because he has left me with no money, car, home or anything. I need assistance PLEASE...this is my only hope. What can I do?

Re: child custody

If this is your only hope, there is not much that can be done from here. There is no question that you will have to have a lawyer. Start checking around for women's support groups. You're not the first one this has happened to and maybe they can direct you to resources that might be able to help. Good Luck.
