Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
child custody - religious holidays
I was married for 5 years, and got divorced 1 year ago. I go to lutheran church, my ex-husband is converted jewish. Because I was relatively new in this country, so afraid of my cheating husband and desperate to leave him, I gave my husband a lot of visitiation with my now, 5 year old son. He got standar visitation plus 2 more days every other week. Also 45 days during sumer, and in addition to the standar holidays, he got the jewish holidays every year. He has my son all of his holidays (many of them are not really that big, even for jewish people I have asked) and I can not take my son to the holidays.
I truly believe this part of my decree is unfair, and I should be allowed to expose my son to my religion.
Is there any way to get back in court, and obtain some equal right to have my son during my religious holidays?.

You need to hire an attorney to file a motion to modify the decree to permit your child to be exposed to your religious holidays.

You may file a motion to modify the previous order. Hire an attorney as this kind of issue can get complicated. Good luck.
