Child custody requirement

My son is divorcing his wife. They have a 4 year old daughter. He is seeking joint custody. She tells him that the State of Texas requires the parents to attend a parenting class for divorced parents before the case can go to court. Is this true or is she trying to stall the proceedings?

A 4 hour parenting class is required.

Your son desperately needs an attorney.

I urge you to encourage him to hire someone to protect his interests.
