Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
child in danger
My brother in law and his girlfriend just had a baby. He wants to leave her and take the baby with him. They are both listed on the birth certificate. She has two other girls that aren't his. He wants a better environment for his daughter since they currently live with his girlfriends boss (she works at a strip club). The house is filthy, disgusting, dirty... they have 3 pit bulls and a live crocodile in an aquarium on the kitchen counter!! What trouble can my brother in law get into if he took his daughter and came to live with me. All of us are in Texas. He just wants a better life for his child and knows that his girlfriend (which has a history of mental issues, is bipolar, and always has her older two girls filthy as well as herself) will not go about this the right way. He won't leave her without taking his daughter so he feels he's stuck. Money is a huge issue, is there some how he file emergency custody at a minimal cost? Can he just take the baby and leave it up to her to do the legal side of it to get her back? They aren't married.

Re: child in danger
He can either do it th eright or the wrong way. If he does it the wrong way, it's much, much, much more expensive and the child would be returned if he took the little girl. No matter what, it's going to be a buch of money - $10K-$20K. Find the money or leave things as they are. Good Luck.
