Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can a child divorce a parent in Texas?

Can a child who is under the age of 18 divorce their non-custodial parent in Texas while maintaining their relationship with the custodial parent -- even if that child does not live with either parent?

Re: Can a child divorce a parent in Texas?

Your question is a little vague, but I understand that you wish to terminate your legal relationship with one of your parents after a divorce. That would require a Motion to Modify the present Order and a Petition to Terminate the parent's Parental Rights. That could possibly be done by the child, but the minor would likely require an ad litem and the test would be best interests of the child.
