Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
child passports
Me and my fiance want to go on a cruise next year in March and take my three children with us from a previous marriage, I asked my ex if he would notorize the papers so that I can get their passports and he refuses to. If I petition the court to allow me to obtain their passports would I need a lawyer or can I petition the court myself? And how would I do that?

Re: child passports
If you know what to do, then you can do it yourself. If not, then you need to hire a lawyer. It would be a good idea to do this now, since most courts have full dockets, and this sounds like a contested case.
Re: child passports
If your ex will not agree, you will need to petition the Court for relief. You need to act immediately if the cruise is expected in March. Once the Court orders your ex to assist in obtaining passports, it will still take some time to actually get the passports through the governmental agency. I can assist you with this process.
