how do you go about having a child request to live with grandparent instead of mother

Assuming the mother does not agree, grandmother needs to file a suit affectingthe parent-child relationship seeking primary conservatorship of the child. In Texas, that is really hard to win, particularly if the child's curcumstances are not absolutely horrible AND the grandmother has not had actual possession of the child for at least 6 months.
