Re: child support

Based on what you have written, the amount of child support is calculated by (i) determining the annual sum of all resources defined as "net resources," (ii) subtracting from that amount certain itesm, such as taxes paid, and (iii) dividing the result by 12 to determine monthly net resources. Generally, there are additional factors to be considered when finalizing the net resources. The Texas Family Code has a suggested guideline to determine the percentage of net resources based on the number of children. If my local family law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my paralegal Tina ([email protected]) to arrange for a consultation.

Re: child support

Child suppport is a total of all of your net resources. So if you get an annual bonus that would be included, if you have rental income, interest income, income from 3 jobs, etc. it all is included in "net resources".

The definition of "net resources" is available on line. Check out the TX Family Code and/or the Office of the Texas Attorney General website for more information.
