Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support Amount

I live in Texas and was awarded $2,200.00 in monthly child support. The children's father earns over $500,000 per year. I thought the cap on child support in Texas is $1,800.00 per month but someone I met said that they should have taken 25% of his earnings as child support and that I should be receiving more in child support than I am. Can I apply for a modification in child support or just cut my loses (if they are indeed loses)? What is the usual outcome in applying for increase in child support in Texas?

Re: Child Support Amount

Generally, depending upon the specific circumstances, you may request the court order a modification of the child support amount. The funds received should be used for the best interest of the child. If my law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
