Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Support Arrearages
I am ordered to pay child support for my 2 children who are now 15 and 16 years old. Our case is on file with the Attorney General's Office. My ex-wife has agreed to forgive my arrearages and make my account current. Please tell me how to do this and if there is a way to do it without hiring an attorney. Thanks.

Re: Child Support Arrearages
Maybe. Since you don't want to hire a lawyer, at this stage, your best option is to speak with the OAG, with your exwife present to confirm that she wants to adjust the arrearages. The OAG may not agree to do so, and if there is past state aid, they probably won't. Additionally, a judge can refuse to do so.
