child support arrears and adoption

My daughter's father wants to terminate his parental rights, he currently owes $14K in arrears, when my husband adopts her will her biological father still be held accountable for the arrears through the attorney general's office?

Termination of the parent-child relationship is the first step in the adoption process. Tha termination order does not do away with the past unpaid child support obligation; however, it will cut off any future child support obligation.

The short answer is - no, the adoption does not absolve the father of the accrued child support that has not been paid.
