Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Support
I have been battling with AG office for 8 years to locate father and order child support for my now 13 year old daughter. The father has been located and he was served for court and did not show. HE requested paternity testing and did not show to take his test. Is there anything I can do to force a test or to get the court to order child support without the testing? He is listed on the Birth Certificate, we were not married, he did sign the Acknowledgment of Pternity at the hospital. Any advice? I filed for help with the AG office in Oct of 2000 and have gotten nowhere.
Thank you,
Kelly

Re: Child Support
Based on what you have written, you should consider retaining your own family law law firm to represent you, your interests, and protect your rights. The Attorney General's Office represents the State of Texas and not you. Therefore, any actions that you may wish to pursue, you would need to bring an action on your own. If my local family law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my paralegal Tina ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.
Re: Child Support
The AG represents the State or Texas, not you. If you ever want this to get anywhere you need to hire your own attorney to represent your interests and protect your child.
If you are in the Houston area, feel free to contact my office if you are interested in pursuing this.
