Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support Calculation

Based on an answer provided by an atty. at this site, child support is calculated by taking gross and subtracting fed withholding. If medical insurance is provided by non-custodial parent, then this premium is deducted, as are professional dues. What about social security deductions?

*My question: Medical insurance premiums can be as much as the original child support amount. Example: I paid $400.00 per month child support and $377.00 medical insur premium. My take-home was just over $1,000.00 per month.

Could someone just PLease give a summary of the calculations, deductions, and answer the all-important question: is medical insurance coverage required by the non-custodial parent? I know to read the court order - but I want the order modified to be fair and legal. The other parent is a veterinarian, is worth well over a million and I have been driven to bankruptcy because I can't survive on $12,000 per year.
