Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Support
I have a court order for my oldest son's father to pay child support but when the Attorney Generals office finds out where he works & starts deducting the amount from his check he finds a new job so that he doesn't have to pay. What can I do to ensure the child support gets paid. I'm tired of contacting the Attorney General's office and getting no where. I'm tired of fighting to get what is legally my son's. What are my rights? Thank you for your help.

Re: Child Support
It is exhausting, and you are right, the burden falls on you to keep track of where he is. You could file an enforcement action with the court to require him to notify the court and the AG when he changes jobs, but that is more work for you, and of minimal value. Unfortunately, you are probably doing everything you can -- you can't make a bum into a responsible guy.
