Re: child support from disablility income

I'd call the Texas Attorney General's office in your area immediately for advice.

You can also retain a private attorney -- they usually move faster than the Texas A G's office.

The Texas AG's office is overwhelmed so you need to be prepared to wait awhile. But it is free!

The problem you have is proving he got the money and getting into court before the money is gone.

If child support has been established by a court, then he owes the money.

If child support has never been court ordered, then you need to get to court and get a figure established.

Child support is based on the number of children. One child is 20%, two are 25%, etc.

If he supports other children, then he gets a reduction in the above figures (but not much of a reduction).

I could go on and on but I'm afraid it will only confuse you!

Good luck!
