Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Support
Can the child support division in Texas assume that a court order in Ca still be valid from 7 years ago. The court order was closed by the mother in Ca. and child support still paid directly to her (receipts to prove). Now she has filed and they are going to garnish payments based on the Ca order and claiming arrears.

Re: Child Support
You need to discuss this with an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas. The court order is valid. It would appear that you should request an accounting of the alleged arrears. This will require her to present a statement of what amounts were not paid and the date they were due. You can also request a copy of any records she has which reflect payments of support, or the lack of payment.
The amount of support that was due each month is the amount set by the court. If she allowed you to slide each month by paying a smaller amount will not be a defense to the lack of payment of the full amount ordered by court.
