Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Can he ask for more child support already?

My ex and I have been divorced since May 17, 2006. He has custody of the children, and I pay him child support. He is self employed, and claims he has had no work since Dec 15, 2006. He sent me a citation requesting the amount of child support be increased. Can he ask for an increase already? Can he just ask for more money just because he isn't working? I dont' think that's fair.

Re: Can he ask for more child support already?

Your child support is based on your income. Has your income increased more than 15%. If so, you might have to pay more child support. Or was your child support calculated correctly the first time. If not, you might have to pay more. It's not about what is fair.
