Child Support
I was divorced in 1990. In my divorce decree it states that my ex-husband was to carry the health insurance for our daughter. He has never paid any health insurance for her. I have carried the insurance. She will be 17 in May. I want to know if I can sue him for reimbursement of the health insurance premiums, and simply have him continue to pay child support until she finishes college or turns 22. Is this possible? The total amount for the health insurance is about $20,000.

You need to file contempt on him as soon as possible. You must do this before she turns 18.

Texas will not order child support past the child turning 18 or when the child graduates from high school.

He can voluntarily enter into a contract to pay for college. Then you would sue him under contract law if he did not fulfill his agreement.
