Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Support
In 1989 I effected what I believed to be final child support to the CSEU in Buffalo, Co., Nebraska. In June, 2006 after never, ever hearing to the contrary I receive notce of being over $14,000.00 in arrears. I retained and paid the attorney in Buffalo County to research the matter but he could not bring the matter to trial or resolve it. I have suffered garnishment of wages ever since. Now I have received notice of lien on Income Tax.
As I was never given a Due Process hearing one was eventually set up for October 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., yet that very morning my attorney called to say the hearing was ''cancelled'' and he sent me a letter accordingly.
I cannot afford to go to Nebraska and hire an attorney there so I am seeking someone here in Texas who can represent me in Nebraska and/or give me guidance in this matter.

Re: Child Support
You need an attorney licensed in the State in which the legal matter occurred.
I am only licensed in the State of Texas.
You can go on-line and go to the State Bar of Texas website and try to find an attorney licensed in Texas & Nebraska. I doubt that you will find many -- especially in family law.
