Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child support enforcement
I was divorced in Texas. My ex moved to Georgia, and applied for child support services. My case was moved from Texas to Florida where I now live. Child support is being enforced and traced by Florida. My ex has since moved back to Texas and again applied for child support services. Texas is saying that I owe 25,000 in back child support, and the office where my ex lives does not show that the case was moved to Florida (even though the paperwork I recieved in Florida court came from that local Texas office). I contacted the Texas office in an effort to clear things up, gave them all the info for Florida case, and instead of contacting them, they sent a notice to my employer to garnish my wages (even though there is already a garnish program in effect from Florida). My question is, which state has priority, and what can I do to prove to Texas that I do not owe what they say, also Texas says that they are going to report my past amount to the credit agencies (even though it is not correct). Please help, these state agencies are driving me insane.

Re: Child support enforcement
Sad as it may seem, you should contact a lawyer in the Texas county where the texas case is based.
