Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support

Father of my child was incarcerated for past 2 years and now he is out and wants me to ask attorney general to waive the backpay for the past 2 years because he says he can't afford the payment now and i said no so he said he was going to hire and attorney to see what he can do about getting his child support payments reduced. Is this possible. It's not mine or my daughters fault for the poor choices he mad to get him incarcerated.

Re: Child Support

It's possible, highly unlikely. To change that, the court would have to see that, his interest, is greater than that of the child. Good luck to you, and may God bless you.
