child support

my fiance is paying child support for his son who is now 17..my partner is working 2 jobs totalling 65hrs a week but as child support is being deducted from both we can not make ends meet..i can not work as yet as i do not have a work permit until we have married as im from the uk and here on a fiance visa..we are left with $1000 a month and with our rent and other out goings we do not have enough left to live on..can we appeal to have the amount reduced until im working too.

Re: child support

Your income is not a factor in child support just as what ever is left after paying bills. Child support is paid first.
