Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support

I am fixing to file for divorce. I wanted to know what the percent of my husbands pay could I get? My son is 18 fixing to graduate high school in May. My daughter is 15. I know my husband will have to provide health insurance. He grosses $2,800 every 2 weeks. What can I expect as far as child support? Can you get child support through College years?

Re: Child Support

Normally, child support is only payable through 18 years or high school graduation, whichever happens last. There are exceptions.

Child support guidelines provide for 20% of net resources for one child. If there are significant unusual circumstances, then the judge may deviate from the guidelines.

Generally, assets and debts are split 50-50.

You may be entitled to spousal support.
