Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

child support fro my nieces

My sister died 3 years ago. Since her death two of her daughters have been living with me. (the girls moved from florida to texas) I have contacted both fathers; they calls every now and then however, neither seem to want the responsibility of raising his child. My sister sued both father for child support via the state of fla and IL. (the father lives in diffent states) I have tried to get the child support orders transfered to my name so that I may go after the fathers for support. Both states have refused stating that I needed legal papers on the childrens. What papers do I need and how much would it cost to get them? Thank you

You need to get the original Florida orders (if there are any) transferred to Texas so that you can ask the court to be appointed conservator of the children. Then you will have the right to sue them for child support. Contact attorneys from this website in or near the county where you reside to see what their fees would be.
