Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support and Inheiritance

My daughter will soon receive an inheritance a she is currently behind 1700$ which she will pay however can the inheritance be use to create a new basis of income thus a reevaluation of child support amount. Plus she will be living in a home paying the mortgage until it sold and then she will split the proceeds with her sister,

So does this change of her circumstance have a bearing on the child support amount currently owed?

Re: Child Support and Inheiritance

Unless the inheritance is large enough to generate a regular income, probably not. Your daughter needs to catch up her child support. Paying a mortgage won't have any effect on her current support obligation. If she really has questions, she needs to sit down and talk with a good family law attorney.
