Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

child support

My ex lives in New Mexico and my new husband and I have relocated to Texas. I am seeking to modify child support based on his increases in salary since our divorce in 2003. Do I go by New Mexico child support laws still or Texas child support laws now that this is their state of residency? And, where do I file?

Re: child support

You have not provided enough information to adequately answer your question. What state did the current court order originate from? That will make a difference as to where you would file the modification action. If you are in the Houston area and would like to visit more concerning this matter, please contact me.
