child support for a child that was not mine

can I sue someone for child support that I paid when a paternity test confirmed several years later that the child was not mine.

There are a number of factors that affect this question, and there simply are not enough facts to give an intelligent answer here without going into too many different areas of child support laws and paternity issues that may or may not allow you to recoup the child support paid.
