Can a non custodial parent emancipate from his 16 yr. old son in order to not have to pay child support?

While emancipation (removal of disabilities of minority) terminates the child support obligation, there are a few hurdles in the emancipation statute.

The biggest one that I see is that the custodial parent must verify the petition.
