Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

child support

On Nov. 21 I was unable to appear for a court date. I was asking the court thru the attorney general to give me back child support as stated on my divorce decree. Because I wasn't there the judge granted a credit of 83,000 to my ex based soley on his testimony. Since then I have filed a motion for new trial and recieved a court date. Then I recieved from my ex's lawyer a motion for dismissal based on judgement of law. If the judge grants this dismissal, what else can I file to try to get a trial or can I appeal or something. I just want an opportunity for the judge to hear my testimony

Re: child support

If you are trying to do this yourself with $83,000 on the line, then you need to burn the midnite oil or hire an attorney. No attorney can tell you what to do, how to do it, when to do it, where to do it without compromising their law license.
