I have a court order for child support in the state of Kentucky, the children and I have moved to Texas. Now what? How do I collect in a different state?

Re: child support order

Depends where the father is. If he is still in KY, then you will need to file there. If he isn't then you may need to file in the state he lives in. However, if he travels to Texas, you may be able to file here and serve him in Texas. There are other ways to collect child support depending on the facts of your case. IF you can't afford a private attorney, contact the Texas Attorney General and see if they will help.
