Child Support

How much do you have to pay of your gross income for 2 children ages 10 and 13.

Assuming these are your only children and there are no other factors that might effect support, the percentage for 2 children is 25% of your net as calculated using the Attorney General tables for calculating child support.

Child support is based upon net pay rather than gross pay. Net pay means the gross figure minus the sums the government requires to be withheld and minus the cost of health insurance for the kids. Based on that net figure, the support amount is 25%. The ceiling on the net monthly figure in the guidelines is $7,500 so the guidelines support figure for two children is 25% of $7,500. The court can vary from the guideline figures if the facts warrant doing so.
