Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

child support

I am currently paying child support for two kids that live in different homes with different moms. I pay a total of around 800$ month for them.

I remarried and I have a 10 month old son and my wife is expecting a new baby in August of 2009. My question is will my child support for my other two kids go down after the baby is born? I have gotten mixed advice about it and I just wanted to know if it was true that the child support would go down? If so what do I need to do and when do I need to do it?

Re: child support

The child support guidelines in the Family Code reduce the figures if you have other children to support. I suggest you contact a lawyer.

Re: child support

You need to go talk with a good family law attorney because to change anything you will have to go back to Court. It is possible you might be able to lower your support obligations, but depending on several factors, including what you were making when the previous orders were issued and what you are making now and the ages of the children, it may or may not be cost effective.
