Can a child support paying parent pay off child support early in TX?

It can be, but that is risky. Child support can be modified at any tine until the child is 18 years old. If it is paid off in a "lump sum" early, then it is possible for the person receiving the support to later ask for a modification and, if the facts warrant, get it.

I recommend that clients refrain from paying early.
