Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child support payments?
My divorce decree states that my ex is supposed to make all payments to the district clerk and any made to me is in lieu of not in addition to. So am I still able to receive the payments that are not on file at the court house?

Re: Child support payments?
There is a child support registry, whose address has probably changed since your decree was entered, where your ex should send his support payments to be sure he gets credit. However, if he can prove he made the payments directly to you, most judges in Bexar County will listen to his evidence and possibly give him credit for them if his proof is good enough. He can just ask you under oath if you received the payments. The judges in Bexar County would not like to hear that you already got paid and are trying to get double payment because he paid you directly instead of through the registry.
