Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Child Support Prior to September 1999
My youngest child reached the age of 22 in May of 1999. The Statute of Limitations in Texas was changed effective, September of 1999 concerning forgiveness of arrears if owed. Prior to this date ''September'', arrears were supposed to be forgiven once the youngest child reached the age of 22 and not prior court orders had been issues for contempt etc.
How do I take advantage of the law as it was at the time of my youngest chld in May of 1999? Please Advise

Re: Child Support Prior to September 1999
I do not quite understand the question. The law in effect when the youngest turned 22 made doing anything impossible. If an arrearage was confirmed before then it is still a judgment against the party who owed the support. If nothing was done before then nothing can be done now, the statute of limitations has passed.
